OVERCOME YOUR FEARS!

Created out of nothing by negative thoughts, fear is very often a hindrance when it comes to professional success. Sometimes justified and beneficial, it can also become a problem when it comes to developing your business as a self-employed home seller. Fear of failure, rejection, other people's opinions... there are many fears. Elora gives you some tips on how to overcome them!
What is fear and what are you afraid of as a VDI?
" Fear is the sister ofimagination " said Roseline Cardinal. It's a great way of transforming an apprehension into a more virtuous realisation. When we're afraid,our mind adapts, adjusts andthinksmore wisely. Fear then becomes useful, protecting us but also constraining us.
The only remedy is to have the courage to recognise it andface ithead-on.
Fear is defined as "a feeling of great anxiety, ofalarm at the thought ofdanger ". After joy, anger or sadness, fear defines man as a whole that helpedhim, in prehistoric times, to ensure his survival.
In our time, fear takes many forms and is above all created by our imagination and its negative springs. Fear of taking the plunge, fear of talking to someone we don't know, fear of how others will look atus, fear of ourselves, fear of being criticised and judged, fear of saying'no', fear of failure... fear settles in our brains asablocking agent in the face of the unknown, developing a feeling of uncertainty, hesitation and anxiety. The result: we lose confidence in ourselves and stay in our comfort zone .
How can you overcome your fears to succeed as a VDI?
- Identify your fears: don't be afraid to face up to your reality. List your fears in one column and a remedy for each of them in the other. Every day, you'll take another step towards mastering your fears and transforming them into something positive.
- Accept rejections: when you're a door-to-door salesperson, "no" is part of your daily routine. Don't waste your time and let go of the guilt that can destabilise you. If someone says "no" to you, it's not necessarily your fault! Accepting the refusal will free you up and enable you to prepare better for the next customer.
- Be indulgent with yourself: accept the fact that you're not perfect (like everyone else!). Don't get stuck on your failures, take action and move forward to overcome the next ones and improve yourself.
- Condition your mind for success: the winning mindset is not just an idea, but a mentalization of your own success. Repeat positive ideas to yourself, such as "I have confidence in myself" and "I am capable of succeeding", and visualise your success before it even happens!
- Train yourself : to reduce this feeling of fear, prepare yourself and surround yourself with people who can help you to succeed. If you're afraid of speaking in front of an audience, go to regular home meetings and watch the fashion consultant deliver her sales pitch or make contact with her customers. If administrative work scares you, set aside one or two slots in your week just for this task. In short, practise, use the right tools and draw inspiration from others!
