1/ Be sociable and open-minded
Developing and maintaining your network is vital to the success of your home-based selling business. Web communication is very important, but human relations are all the more so in doorstep selling.
You can expand your network at every opportunity: during a family meal or a dinner with friends, when you pick up your children from school, when you take part in events of all kinds... don't hesitate to meet people and talk to them about what you do if they seem interested.
Listening and open-mindedness are also essential: you need to understand the needs of your potential customers so that you can offer them the clothes they really want.
2/ Organisation: planning your days
Being your own boss requires rigour and organisation. You plan your days yourself and know exactly what you have to do and when.
You organise your work over weeks to anticipate future home sales. If you are in contact with hostesses, we advise you to take their availability into account in your diary.
3/ Perseverance and optimism are the watchwords
When you start out as a VDI, you're bound to come up against obstacles and take a long time to close your sales.
Rome wasn't built in a day: persevere, be positive and you'll get there! The more committed you are, the more you'll inspire your network to get behind your project.
