Building a more responsible sales system

Every day, we take numerous steps to optimise the way we operate and reduce the environmental footprint of our business.
Opting for a greener sales system
By choosing home shopping, Elora has adopted a sales method that already helps to limit greenhouse gases: no traffic jams, shorter journey times and distances, and private sales that bring women together in the same area. Unlike traditional shopping, which requires more travel, Elora is part of a more responsible sales model.
Reducing the carbon footprint of our shipments
Finally, our aim is to reduce the pollution caused by the transport of goods as much as possible. To further limit shipments and greenhouse gas emissions, we have adopted new methods for grouped shipments:
- Purchases from the same private sale are grouped together for shipment
- Shipments to consultants are grouped together. Instead of dispatching individual orders each day, we concentrate all the week's orders and dispatch them to the sales assistant in one go. This optimises the number of items per parcel and the number of deliveries. In turn, the sales assistant delivers all the customer orders to the hostess at once.

Recycled/recyclable materials for our bags and labels
We have completely replaced plastic bags with recycled paper bags from eco-managed forests - 250,000 bags a year. What's more, all our labels are made from recyclable paper from sustainable forests (FSC or PEFC certified).
More responsible sites and practices
We do our utmost to reduce the ecological footprint of our infrastructures. Both our sites comply with BBC standards and have car parks equipped with electric recharging points. We encourage the use of public transport for our sedentary staff and will shortly be training our sales advisers in eco-driving practices. The use of our printers is limited to what is strictly necessary and our ink cartridges are recycled. Finally, we regularly educate our teams about everyday eco-actions.
